I wasn't always one for taking a gamble.
I graduated in Law from a top University. I landed a secure job at the BBC on a high profile news programme. I bought a flat in London and set about creating a nice, stable, predictable life for myself.
Until I decided to blow it all up and start my own business. That was nearly 20 years ago.
Since then I've moved to the countryside, had a child on my own by choice, renamed and revamped my business more times than I can remember, nearly gone bust and clawed it back again, taken my daughter out of school to home educate...and now we're looking at what our next adventure might be.
Professionally I coach people through change. And I've had plenty of experience of my own as you can see. But that doesn't mean it's easy. I still get the sleepless nights, the resistance to change, the seductive lure of keeping things just as they are.
And then I think - let's DO something DIFFERENT!
I hope you'll enjoy reading about our adventures, our plans, what it's really like to let go of life being predictable and secure and I hope you'll share your adventures (or dreams of adventures) with us!
Blaire and Ivy
The Brilliant Gamblers
We're a family who love change! We believe life is an adventure and it's too short to follow the crowd. So we're asking - could we live a nomadic existance with just what we can fit in the back of a Land Rover? Could we home school or even worldschool? Could we take my business on the road and still make a success of it? Could we live a life of our own design? Let's find out!
